Who We Are
The organizational and development team is lead by Barry Lee Myers, CEO and Susan Brown, Chief Relationship Officer.

Barry Lee Myers

Barry Lee Myers is the founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer of DrugSafe Healthcare LLC. He is an internationally recognized business executive and a science information industry leader. As CEO of AccuWeather, Inc. for 11 years, he led its transformation into a global, multiplatform information and warning enterprise, more than quadrupling its revenue, eliminating its debt, substantially expanding its worldwide reach, and saving thousands of lives in the process. He directed AccuWeather’s strategic growth, acquisitions, major business relationships, and expansion of science information, alerts, notifications, and warnings globally and even into China. While CEO, its scientific alerts, notifications, and warning services reached an estimated two billion people daily and 245 on Fortune 500 companies.
Myers has spent his career at the intersection of science, scientific data and information, technology, business, government, and public safety, developing exceptional expertise in operating large-scale information, alert, notification, and warning systems that continuously collect complex scientific information globally in various languages, formats, and styles to identify emerging dangers and deliver timely, actionable notifications and warnings to people and organizations at risk. He also brings more than six decades of firsthand experience interacting with leading medical institutions—including Johns Hopkins, Mayo Clinic, and the University of Pennsylvania—as both a patient and a patient advocate, giving him a deeply personal understanding of the challenges patients and families face in navigating complex medical care and medication decisions.
For over five decades, Myers worked closely with NOAA, served as a private sector advisor to that elite international ocean and atmospheric agency, and personally advised five directors of the National Weather Service. He collaborated successfully with government leaders under presidential administrations of both parties—demonstrating an unusual ability to build bipartisan support within a fundamentally nonpartisan, science-based framework. The American Meteorological Society recognized him for five decades of “principled industry leadership” and elected him a Fellow—making him one of the very few non-scientists ever to receive that distinction, and the President of the United States nominated him to lead NOAA.
Myers earned his undergraduate degree in business administration and economics from Penn State, a master’s degree in organizational behavior and management science also from Penn State (ABD), a law degree from Boston University School of Law, and served for 18 years on the graduate faculty of Penn State’s Smeal College of Business and the Center for Air Environment Studies.
Before becoming CEO of AccuWeather, Inc he served for almost thirty years as Executive Vice President and General Counsel in a role which allowed him to interact with scientific governmental organizations and science-based companies licensing scientific data and information, including environmental information for the medical field.
He brings to DrugSafeHealthCare™ a rare combination of scientific-industry experience, notification and warning-system expertise, firsthand healthcare knowledge, bipartisan public-sector leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and proven ability to transform complex science data, information, and prediction into trusted, life-protecting systems—precisely the capabilities DrugSafeHealthCare™ requires to identify medication dangers early, and to notify and warn in understandable ways the appropriate people and medical organizations, to prevent harm and save lives.
Susan Brown, Chief Relationship Officer, is an accomplished founder, business strategist, and development executive with nearly three decades of experience leading complex, high-value initiatives. Her career encompasses more than $4 billion in project development internationally, including individual projects valued at up to $150 million. Susan is recognized for bringing people, ideas, and opportunities together—building trusted relationships, identifying possibilities, and creating the connections that move ambitious initiatives forward. She combines entrepreneurial vision and creative thinking with expertise in business development, financial oversight, project execution, and team leadership. Her career reflects a consistent ability to turn vision into opportunity and opportunity into meaningful results.
For Susan, the need for DrugSafeHealthCare™ is deeply personal. A close friend nearly lost her life because of a drug interaction that never should have happened. The medications were known. The risks were identifiable. But the critical information was not connected in time to protect her. Her experience is a powerful reminder that behind every gap in medication safety is a person—a patient, a parent, a spouse, a friend.
